Beach Survival Kit collects information to operate and protect the site, understand how guides are used, and answer field reports.

Your inbox stays yours.
Submitting a field report does not subscribe you to marketing. We do not sell or rent personal information submitted to us. We use the details you provide to read, verify and respond to your message, improve our guides and keep the site secure. We also use Google Analytics to measure site usage.
We request only the contact and message details needed to evaluate a field report.
Contact-form submissions are not automatically added to an email marketing list.
We do not sell or rent the personal information submitted through Beach Survival Kit.

What enters the system.
Information you submit
When you use the BSK Field Report form, we collect the name, email address, subject and message you choose to provide. Please do not submit sensitive personal information, medical records, financial details or information about a child that is not necessary for your report.
Technical and security information
Our hosting, website and security systems may automatically process technical information such as an IP address, browser or device type, requested pages, referring page, timestamps and error or security events. This information is used to deliver the site, diagnose problems and reduce abuse or spam.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics, connected through the Site Kit plugin, to understand how visitors find and use Beach Survival Kit. It measures page visits and interactions such as clicks, downloads and form-related events so we can improve the site. When a page uses Analytics, your browser may send Google information including the page URL, IP address, browser or device information and cookie identifiers. We review usage reports rather than field-report message contents. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Cookies
The site may use cookies or similar technologies for site operation, security and administrator sign-in. Google Analytics may use cookies to distinguish visits and measure site activity. Embedded services may set their own cookies as described below. If we later add advertising or marketing technologies, we will update this policy and provide applicable notices or choices.

Service providers
We use tools and providers to host the website, operate the field-report form, deliver email and measure site usage. These currently include GoDaddy for hosting, WPForms for the form, Google/Gmail for email delivery and storage, and Google Analytics for audience measurement. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect safety or rights, or in connection with a sale, reorganization or transfer of the website or business.
Section 03 // storage and control
Where reports go and how long they stay.
WPForms Lite is configured not to save Field Report entries in the WordPress database or its optional entry-backup service. A submission is delivered to our Gmail inbox through Google’s authenticated email service. The resulting email may remain in that inbox for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain useful records, improve the site, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations.
Your choices and requests
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or ask us to delete information you submitted. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We may retain information when reasonably necessary for legal, security, recordkeeping or dispute-resolution purposes. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; Google also offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a small informational website. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please limit submissions to information needed for the report.

Embedded content and outside websites
Pages may contain links to or embedded content from other websites, such as maps, videos, government sources, retailers or social platforms. Those services may collect information, use cookies or track interaction as if you visited them directly. Their privacy practices are controlled by their own policies, not this one.
Children’s privacy
Beach Survival Kit is written for adults planning family beach trips. The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
Policy changes
We may update this policy when the site, its tools or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest version.
